Bio

Suzy Perelman is a violinist in the revival of the show Cats which opened on Broadway a year ago. She is a staff member of and a frequent performer for Concerts in Motion, a charity that brings live music to the homebound. She was also named a spotlight artist for the charity Music for Autism. When not playing violin, Suzy enjoys rollerblading, playing word games, Israeli dancing, flying trapeze, and taking long walks with friends.

Suzy began playing the violin at age 6 in the Philadelphia public schools. She attended Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve University for her undergraduate degrees and Carnegie Mellon for her master's. She spent 6 years playing in symphony orchestras: the Utah Symphony and the San Antonio Symphony, and 2 years touring the country as the concertmaster of the touring production of Phantom of the Opera.

Suzy moved to NYC in 2005 and has played shows on Broadway since then including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, LoveMusik, 9to5, Evita, Jeckyl and Hyde, Gigi, and Cats. She has also played with several orchestras around town including the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the Long Island Philharmonic, the Westchester Philharmonic, the American Composers Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, and the Pit Stop Players. Suzy is the proud teacher of 10 young violinists.

Services Description

Suzy performs classical music. She has 2 hours of memorized repertoire including pieces by Fritz Kreisler, Sarasate, Beethoven, Dvorak, Vivaldi, Bach, etc. SOME Irish fiddling, show tunes and a bit of klezmer too, but mostly classical. She is also happy to play in a duo, trio, quartet, or large ensemble with colleagues.
