Bio
Ms. Bogardus earned her Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory and Master of Music degree from Northwestern University. While living in Mexico, she held several principal flute positions and appeared as a soloist regularly. In New York, Ms Bogardus currently holds the principal flute positions with the Binghamton Philharmonic, Verismo Opera and Martina Arroyo Foundation Opera and performs with the American Ballet Theater Orchestra, Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Gotham Chamber Opera, Teatro Grattacielo Opera Company, American Symphony Orchestra, Albany Symphony, New Jersey Festival Orchestra, Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, Allentown Symphony, Dorian Quintet, several Broadway Shows and dozens of other NY based orchestras. She can be heard on numerous TV and film sound tracks. Ms. Bogardus is a prizewinner of the Myrna Brown and Artists International Competitions and won first place in the Continuo Arts Foundation Young Artists Competition with her chamber group, The Emerald Trio. The Emerald Trio recorded a CD of pieces written for them by New York City based composers, which will be released on Naxos in 2016.
Services Description
I am a freelance flutist who plays in dozens of orchestras in the NYC area. I have many years of experience on Broadway and commercial recording. I play flute, piccolo, alto flute, bamboo flute, recorder and penny whistle. I have a large teaching studio of private students, and decades of experience coaching chamber music. I am interested in any work that involves playing the flute or teaching the flute. Currently I am principal flutist in the Binghamton Philharmonic and several small opera companies.
