Bio

Christian L. Stahr is a Brooklyn based composer, orchestrator and pianist from Norway. He holds an MFA from the Musical Theatre Writing program at Tisch, NYU. The musical 'Olav den Heldige" ("St. Olav the Lucky One"), for which he was the composer and music director has been performed every summer since 2013 in his hometown of Sarpsborg, and his musical "4 Real" has been touring around Norway since 2015.

Other works include composer and sound designer for several web series and short films, orchestrator and arranger for several musicals, artists and other events, as well as music director for Burning Coal Theatre's production of "Sunday in the Park with George" in Raleigh, NC and pianist for the US premiere of the play 'Spoonface Steinberg' by Lee Hall at the same theatre.

In 2017 he composed and arranged the music for the opening ceremony of Winter Classic and the city of Fredrikstad's 450th Anniversary. Later that year he published an EP with recordings of 5 original piano compositions. He is now writing for his musicals 'The Wonderful World of Dana' and 'Anne Bonney' with Scout Storey and "Letter from Aslak" and "Himmelvei" with Hilde Skappel.

Christian provides piano accompaniment for artists, either rehearsals or concerts as well as providing professional backing tracks. He also composes, orchestrates and provides music transcriptions for any ensemble in any genre.
