Bio
Bill Wurtzel is a renowned guitarist. He has performed worldwide with jazz legends that include the Count Basie Countsmen (12 yrs), Harlem Blues & Jazz Band (10 yrs), organists Bill Doggett (7 yrs) and Jimmy McGriff (3yrs). He has played countless private events including 10 for Paul Simon. Classical guitar performances include St. Patrick's Cathedral, Temple Emanuel and wedding ceremonies. Bill is a director of the Jazz Foundation of America. He can be heard every Wednesday 2-3pm, with bassist Jay Leonhart at the American Folk Art Museum in NYC (since 2009). Bill is available as a solo guitarist as well as with duo, trio and larger ensembles.
